ICS Cyber Security Pre-Sales Engineer - Chicago, IL

The Sales Engineer is the technical lead responsible for technical and business requirements discovery, design, engineering, consulting, proposal preparation support and technical presentations to customers for Industrial Cyber Security solutions.
 
Preferred candidates have strong technical background in the industrial industry, security engineering, network security, information assurance, cloud security and knowledge of network threat detection.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as technical subject matter expert with a thorough understanding products, features, functions and benefits in order to communicate and influence clients
  • Performs customer discovery discussions to understand and document business needs and design requirements necessary for the formulation of optimal solutions
  • Design solutions for customers
  • Document and present solutions to the customer
  • Perform product demonstrations
  • Perform site survey and evaluate client criteria
  • Provide technical assistance as necessary with onsite deployment
  • Perform technical evaluations
  • Provide technical guidance to partners and assist them in effectively selling solutions


REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Must have field pre-sales experience in enterprise security solutions and networking
  • Experienced in product demonstrations, proof of concepts, and interfacing with external clients
  • Strong knowledge of multiple infrastructure security tools (firewall, IDS/IPS, Cyber Defense)
  • ICS/SCADA, TCP, UDP protocols
  • Networking; Routing, Switching (layer 2/layer3), MPLS, VPN, LAN, WAN, WLAN, ACL, CLI, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, 802.1X, SSL
  • Traffic Monitoring/Spanning: 802.1Q, VLAN
  • Troubleshooting Skills: TCPDUMP, SNMPWALK, NETSTAT, Wireshark
  • Firewall experience (Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWall, Palo Alto, etc.)
  • A strategic approach to technical selling with a professional understanding of customer expectations
  • The ability to be customer-focused and responsive to their needs
  • Effective presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • The ability to understand business problems, effectively discuss these issues and present and prepare solutions
  • The ability to relate to a wide range of technical staff and managers in customer environments


PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Network Access Control, Intrusion Prevention Systems or similar network security technology (NGFW, ATD)
  • Security products: SIEM, VA, IoC, MDM, ePO, ATD or similar technologies
  • Authentication: 802.1X, RADIUS, LDAP, AD, CAC/smart card, NTLMv2
  • Database; SQL, MySQL
  • Network/Host Security: NAC, IPS, NGFW, ATD or similar technologies
  • OS: Linux/UNIX, Windows, MAC, Android, IOS
  • Conversant in published security architectures, approaches, methodologies, and regulations such as FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, CSF, RMF
  • Security certifications (GICSP, CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC, Security+, CCNA, CCNP, CCSP)
